Catalan Journal of Communication& Cultural Studies
The Catalan Journal of Communication& Cultural Studies (CJCS) is
committed to publishing research and scholarship on the analysis of
media and culture. The journal pays attention to original works,
particularly but not exclusively, related to the Catalan cultural and
media systems.
CJCS’s approach is multidisciplinary, publishing articles dealing
directly or through a comparative frame with media and communication
history, media and cultural policies, audience and reception studies,
cultural and national identity, media discourses, intercultural
communication, sport and media, language and media language uses, new
media and the internet, gender studies, cinema, popular culture, media
and cultural industries, public relations, advertising, tourism and
cultural heritage.
CJCS publishes two issues per year, one special in fall and one
miscellaneous in spring. We invite contributions from scholars,
researchers and professionals from around the world working in the
above-mentioned fields who wish to publish their works in a journal
with a truly international scope. We especially encourage young
researchers and doctoral students to submit articles.
Articles should be between 6,000-8,000 words. They must be based on
original research or offer well grounded theoretical contributions,
they must be written in a clear and concise style in English and they
must not be under consideration by any other publication. The articles
are submitted to a blind peer reviewing process and must follow the
style guidelines of the journal. The deadline for submitting an
article for the issue 4.1 (Spring 2012) is September 30th 2011
